It was the summer of 69’…

In the last post I talked about how the beach all started with my grandmother well it didn’t end there because the beach bug was then passed down to my mother, Lynn Stafford. So once my mom became a teenager she did what any beach-loving teen would, bring her friends to the beach including her then boyfriend, Frank Blanch, my father.

I believe they met in 1969 and had continued to date after my mom had graduated high school and had left to attend Radford University. My mom mother never finished because she got pregnant with my sister, had a whirlwind wedding and began married life.

But before all that happened they had made some trips to the beach and from the photos I found in the archives it looked like had some wild times!

Who said selfie’s were invented in the 2000’s? My dad was doing them back in the 70’s!

This photo has always made me wonder what kind of people were parents were before I came around, obviously fun and happy and maybe a little naughty, lol! Must have been some night. This one has my sister in it so they were continued beach trips even with kids in tow. I was to join them 5 years later…
